Janita founded “Kika” in 1991, inspired by her love for her poodle, Kika, who drew her into the fascinating world of animal care and nutrition.

“‘Kika’ was built from my student allowance, a strong desire, and love for my dog. No one helped — there were no wealthy parents, no privatization opportunities, no investors. We simply believed in it and worked. We went through every economic crisis, and today we truly appreciate it — no one can gain that kind of experience anymore. And no one can fully understand that level of determination and belief, because back when it all began, we didn’t count the hours, the effort, or whether it would pay off.”

KIKA GROUP owns modern pet food manufacturing facilities. AKVATERA LT is one of the most advanced factories in Northern Europe. “AKVATERA LT was a natural step for me when I realized that I wanted not only develop formulas, but to have full control over their quality. Here, we produce premium dry food for dogs and cats, as well as feed for rodents and birds,” says Janita. Every ingredient is selected with the utmost care, and the entire production process follows strict ISO standards. Quality is ensured through continuous laboratory testing and control — from raw material sourcing to the final product.

AKVATERA W — an ultra-modern wet pet food factory opened in 2025. More than €20 million was invested in this project to further expand KIKA GROUP’s capabilities in developing high-quality, contemporary products for pets worldwide. Alongside it, an innovative pouch packaging solution was introduced, meeting the demands of a rapidly growing market. The new facility has significantly strengthened the company’s export potential — enabling even more active operations across more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia, and the United States. It has opened up new opportunities to develop next-generation products, enhance competitiveness, and grow in line with the evolving expectations of modern pet owners.
TAURO KENNEL is one of the largest and most modern breeding facilities in Northern Europe, specializing in Maltese, Bichon Frise, and Pomeranians. With these dogs, Janita and her team actively compete in international shows around the world. Dogs bred here have earned more than 2,000 championship titles — recognized as the best in the world, Europe, and the United States. As of 2026, the kennel has produced 82 American Champions, 35 European Champions, and 31 World Champions. “This is the result of consistent work and true dedication to the breed. It is also an opportunity to represent Lithuania on the global stage,” says Janita. In 2025, TAURO KENNEL was ranked the No. 1 Pomeranian kennel in the world, and in 2023, it achieved 1st place in the Breeder Group. Among the latest achievements: in 2025, Janita was named the No. 1 Pomeranian breeder in the United States. In the same year, Tauro Da Vinci was recognized as the No. 1 Pomeranian in America, and the kennel itself received recognition for lifetime achievements.

In 2023, TAURO GROOMING ACADEMY was established in Kaunas (Maironio St. 11) — a professional space dedicated to the training and advanced development of pet grooming specialists. For the past three years, the academy has been preparing future professionals while also providing continuing education for working groomers from Lithuania and abroad. It hosts hands-on training, seminars, masterclasses, and various industry events and professional meetups — all aimed at fostering community growth and setting the highest standards in animal care.
